Keramella

For much of my life, ceramics has been a consuming passion. When not teaching it, I pound and shape the clay for the sheer pleasure of it. I have been a pottery teacher with some twenty years experience, and before that, an architectural model maker for the local council. I am now working from my home, where I use a wide range of materials for my hand built ceramics. I am particularly fond of coiled and slab built work, but like to experiment with all techniques, from time to time. My work ranges widely from earthenware and stoneware pots of all sizes, to more conceptual pieces, using traditional and modern techniques.
The main influences for my work are; the seashore, where I live. The garden and all things organic and growing. Architecture, both ancient and modern.
I feel strongly that, in ceramics, you remain a student; there is always something new to learn and to engage you. I am keen that others should appreciate and enjoy my work and invite you to browse the small selection of items displayed on this website. If you would like something more customised, I am ready to discuss any reasonable proposals. See contact details.

DISCLAIMER; None of the items here are intended as toys, and are, therefore, unsuitable for small children. Some pottery may have sharp edges or a rough finish on the base. Care should be taken when placing these on polished surfaces.
